Guatemalan Aquaculture companies will work to open the Chinese market for aquaculture and fishery products
AGEXPORT’s Aquaculture and Fishery Sector joins 80% of all producers and exporters of fishery products in Guatemala and plans to focus its actions on 2019 on improving the industry’s sustainable development and increase its exports to markets like the European Union, the United States, Mexico, among others.
For 2019, we seek to help our members to comply with all the requirements specified by the Mexican Health and Food Safety Service to authorize Guatemalan shrimp facilities and farms. We will also focus on trade promotion activities in order to extend our scope and open new markets, mainly Russia and China; said Mr. Jorge Fernandez, president of AGEXPORT’s Aquaculture and Fishery Sector.
This Sector’s annual meeting took place on January 28th, 2019, where its members had the opportunity to elect its 2019-2020 Directory Board and learn about its key strategic priorities for the year.
