Guatemala increased air shipments to the United States, Hong Kong and Ireland
Guatemala moved a total of 62.5 million kilograms of air cargo on 2018, which represented 1.1 million more kilograms compared to 2017. This important growth was due to a higher amount of exports of fresh agriculture products, among with a positive development of other products and key international markets.
A thorough analysis of the latest figures of air cargo operations in Guatemala is explained on the latest edition of AGEXPORT’s Logistics Bulletin, a monthly publication of the Competitiveness department. This edition details which products lead the growth of Guatemalan air shipments on 2018.
Air cargo on 2018 was comprised of perishable products (62%), non-perishable products (35%) and courier (3%). These products were sent by the 13 airlines that currently offer services to Guatemala, as well as 150 cargo agencies, according with data provided by COMBEX-IM.
The Logistics Bulletin also presents a detailed analysis of the main countries that received air cargo from Guatemala, mainly the United States, Hong Kong, Ireland, among others.
