New Gen AGEXPORT is the platform that seeks to support the transfer of knowledge, experience and networking between young entrepreneurs who are leading companies or are about to be the next generation that continues with the family legacy, guaranteeing the sustainability of Guatemalan companies and the growth of the country’s exports.
For this, the New Gen AGEXPORT comprehensive program is built from the experience and knowledge of young entrepreneurs who have a journey of learning and contacts, and who are willing to share so that adds more exporters to Guatemala.
“The Organized Business Sector, seeking to integrate the new generations into union activity, urged the chambers that make it up to form youth groups. AGEXPORT took on the challenge and formed the multisectoral group focusing on specific projects for this new business segment. Now we are made up of 12 businessmen who represent the Manufacturing, Services and Clothing and Textile Sectors and we are seeking for more”, commented the president of NEWGEN, Luis Pedro Solares.
One of the first actions of the AGEXPORT NEWGEN Youth Committee to invite and meet more young entrepreneurs was the first edition of the Young Business Summit, a space for knowledge transfer, experiences and networking, in which more than 140 young entrepreneurs participated.
At the Young Business Summit 2022, the young attendees managed to network with youth and professionals, generating opportunities focused on exports, through three activities:
• Link up with NEWGEN: The objective of the committee was presented, who is part of it and the activities or actions such as networking, training, alliances and positioning that will be carried out within AGEXPORT.
• Talk “YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS, THE FUTURE OF BUSINESS”: given by the business expert Pablo Rubio and where the future of the new generations is heading in the creation of opportunities and business.
• Meet-up: A networking carried out by young entrepreneurs and aimed at other young entrepreneurs.
“AGEXPORT is an innovative and committed chamber, always at the forefront of trends and having new faces and new ideas in its initiatives, allowing to serve people of all ages in the programs it currently has. In addition, it is necessary to generate new leadership to ensure the continuity of the institution and to make Guatemala an exporting country”, added Solares.
Men and women who are part of a family business and are part of the succession plan of the family business can participate in AGEXPORT’s NEW GEN; and businessmen or young entrepreneurs from 20 to 40 years old, who are part of the labor market with a company or are interested in focusing their business on export.
