The future of Guatemala’s exports: AGEXPORT seeks to boost innovation

Looking to explore trends in international trade for the upcoming 10 years, AGEXPORT organized a workshop with its managing team, partners and board members; focusing on how to boost innovation throughout the institution.

The event was launched with the participation of two experts in innovation: Mr. Benjamin Sywulka and Mr. Hitendra Patel.

AGEXPORT’s members made a thorough analysis of strategic actions needed to be pursued by Guatemala to increase its exports of goods and services during the upcoming decade. We reached to the conclusion that all energies, all industries and different public policies needed to be linked to pursue this objective, stated Mrs. Fanny D. Estrada, Director of Public Relations in AGEXPORT.

Among the topics discussed during the workshop were generating higher value, as well as engineering and creating strategic innovation platforms at AGEXPORT.

This workshop was part of a higher project leaded by our Directory Board to promote innovation and transformation in AGEXPORT, all to benefit our member companies, remarked Mr. Amador Carballido, AGEXPORT’s CEO.

The key speaker of the workshop, Hitendra Patel is founder and CEO of IXL Center, a global consulting firm with its headquarters in Cambridge, UK. This company has helped more than 50 global firms and its executive teams to promote innovation and transformation, achieving growth results of 10x.

Dr. Patel promoted the creation of the ‘Innovation Standards Certificate’ at the Global Innovation Management Institute, with the objective of setting innovation as a management skill. More than 6,000 people have been certificated in innovation around the world.
