The Business Intelligence Unit of AGEXPORT’s Market Development and Trade Promotion’s department, the Taiwanese Embassy in Guatemala, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Central America Trade Office (CATO) organized a trade mission to display Guatemala’s exporting products.
During this mission trip, seven Taiwanese companies showed interest on Guatemala’s scented fine cocoa and participated on February 28th on a conference offered by AGEXPORT’s Cocoa and Chocolate Committee president, Mr. Peter Schellenberg. On this conference. Mr. Schellenberg shared different production processes and international opportunities for Guatemalan cocoa, said Mrs. Maria Fernanda Trabanino, head of trade missions in AGEXPORT.
Following the conference, AGEXPORT’s Business Intelligence Unit and the Cocoa and Chocolate Commission organized a cocoa tasting event, allowing the Taiwanese visitors to taste different types and flavors of Guatemalan cocoa.
Additionally, we organized business meetings between Taiwanese buyers and Guatemalan cocoa and shrimp companies, to boost opportunities for Guatemalan exporting products, remarked Mrs. Trabanino.
