AGEXPORT’s Mango Committee organized its annual training event along with the National Mango Board. The event took place on December 6th, 2018 at the recreational parks of Retalhuleu (Southern Guatemala).
More than 90 mango producers attended the eight edition of the Mango Training Conference, which focused on technical topics such as cultivation, nutrition, fertilization, trim, plague control and diseases; all these topics focusing on the experience of Peru shared by Mr. Ángel Gamarra, Peruvian agriculture engineer.
Additionally, Mr. Leonel Estrada shared the Brazilian experience on topics like plant homeopathy and usage of magnetized water for agriculture.
This year’s event opened the participation to providers of this industry, which shared with mango producers of the country. Some of these providers were: Grupo Tecun, Bayer, Soluciones Analiticas, Tropigas and Noviagro.
As part of the activities of the Mango Committee, it also organized on December 7th a guided tour to two farms, led by the two international experts that attended the annual conference. Local producers, exporters, packaging firms and providers participated at this tour.
