Business Intelligence, a key tool for exporting companies

AGEXPORT’s Business Intelligence Unit provides key business tools to exporting firms in Guatemala to excel in international markets. Among its services, it offers business rounds, virtual business meetings, trade missions, buyer analytics and its Connecting Best Markets platform.

To provide its services, the Business Intelligence Unit has three coordinators that lead key markets, identified on AGEXPORT’s Best Markets study. These coordinators work hard to identify key business opportunities in Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico, the United States, Canada, Europe and South America. Coordinators also seek to identify trends in these markets, potential buyers and opportunities for Guatemalan products and services; as well as qualitative data on these markets.

Central America represents currently the destination of one third of the total Guatemalan exports, being one of the country’s most important natural markets. Another important market is the Dominican Republic, Guatemala’s gateway for the Caribbean region. It currently holds one of the highest growth rates (20% on 2018 compared with 2017).

Mexico is also an important country for Guatemala, mainly for “ready-to-eat” products, along with products destined for hotel chains and restaurants. AGEXPORT’s Business Intelligence Unit holds a database of 200 potential buyers in Central America, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
