Unión Europea

AGEXPORT’s Business Intelligence Unit organized a trade mission to Chile’s capital city of Santiago from November 19-23rd, 2018, with support from the European Union’s AL-Invest 5.0 program.

With this trade mission to Chile, we look to strengthen our already existing trade links with Chilean buyers as well as exploring new opportunities in this South American market. With this in mind, we organized a delegation of important exporting firms at our organization and planned business meetings and networking opportunities with potential buyers, including Chilean supermarkets, distributors and importers, said Mrs. Maria Fernanda Trabanino, head of Trade Missions in AGEXPORT.

The companies that were part of this delegation were Algodón Superior, Joopa Juice and Chinajá. They, along with the rest of the delegation, visited key supermarket chains in Chile such as Jumbo, Monserrat Supermarket and Líder Supermarket.

The trade mission also included meetings with other key trade institutions in Chile, such as the Chilean Chamber of Commerce, ProChile, the Chilean Health Ministry, the Customs Authority, among others. As well, the delegation met with key clients like SMU, Monserrat Supermarket and Walmart, among others, said Mrs. Trabanino.

The different meetings were organized with support from the Guatemalan Foreign Affairs Ministry and its Economic Policy section, as well as the Guatemalan Embassy in Santiago (Chile) and the coordination of AGEXPORT’s Business Intelligence Unit.
