100 mango companies exchanged business experiences and worked to increase their exports

As part of the actions enclosed on its 2019 workplan, AGEXPORT’s Mango Committee and the National Mango Board organized the 9th edition of their yearly training sessions, which took place on October 29-31st, 2019. Looking to expand their coverage and attract more mango producers across the country, the event took place in Zacapa and Retalhuleu.

For this year’s edition, AGEXPORT’s Mango Committee invited the Brazilian expert Luiz Eduardo Ferraz as keynote speaker. Mr. Ferraz is an agriculture engineer with more than 27 years of experience in the field.

On the sessions held in Eastern Guatemala on October 29th, more than 70 producers attended the event. The Brazilian expert shared his experience with topics such as best trimming practices, pest management, fertilizing and soil nutrition. The event also included guided tours to plantations in the area.

On October 30th, the event took place in Retalhuleu, with visits to Southern plantations and presentations by Mr. Ferraz. A total of 30 producers of Southern areas attended the event.
