Regalarte | The AL-INVEST Verde Program, financed by the European Union, through its component 1, which aims to promote sustainable growth and job creation, supporting the transition of SMEs in Latin America towards a low-carbon economy , efficient in the use of resources and more circular, presented the artisanal products made sustainably by MiPymes of Guatemala, through the green pavilion in the first edition of the gift fair, REGALARTE, which was organized by the Hecho a commission Hand of the Guatemalan Association of Exporters -AGEXPORT-.
The REGALARTE fair is an event that celebrates the creativity and hard work of artisans who perfect their skills for generations and who, through the Handmade export sector, manage to reach standards that the national and international market demands. This fair offered a commercial platform for MSMEs and artisans to display and sell their unique products, which impacted the generation of new businesses and, as a consequence, the increase in their income and the preservation of cultural traditions in Guatemala.
Sustainability in these products is a development tool, since through the reuse of elements, the conservation and good management of natural fibers they manage to design, innovate, and invent high quality products that, in addition to satisfying the needs of users, They provide added value to sustainable development in the environments where the products are made.
In this way, the AL-INVEST Green Program; of which AGEXPORT in Guatemala is an executing partner, managed to identify companies that promote and make sustainable products and together they created the “green pavilion”, which became a space within the fair where users could appreciate sustainable artisan products and promote spaces for dialogue to promote these good practices.
Green Pavilion in Regalarte
Inside the green pavilion, home decoration and fashion products based on natural fibers were exhibited, bags made by hand with textiles with vegan leather and bags with 100% raw/natural blanket cotton, all of these products generate jobs, they use eco-friendly raw materials. -friendly, natural dyes, ecological packaging and promote the elimination of animal abuse.
In this way, AGEXPORT; Through the AL-INVEST Verde Program, it continues to promote sustainable development and promote job creation with the aim of achieving a more circular economy, which contributes to the ecosystem and guarantees the economic development of MSMEs in the region.
