Private brands, products for the Latin market in the US, new pavilions with exportable offerings, among what attracted international buyers to MANUFEXPORT 2023

As a way to innovate and present a quality exportable offer, Manufexport, the most important regional fair for the retail sector in Central America, organized by entrepreneurs from the AGEXPORT Manufacturing sector, has the exportable offer of 7 sectors including the innovative pavilion Pharma. Together they present the regional offer of more than 100 thousand products that seek to be in more than 1.5 million points of sale internationally. This has had a positive result on international buyers visiting MANUFEXPORT at the Casa Santo Domingo Hotel, Antigua Guatemala, from September 19 to 21.
From September 19 to 21, Guatemala has become the business center of retail manufacturing in the Central American region. Manufexport 2023 organized by exporters from the AGEXPORT manufacturing sector, with the participation of 200 buyers from 14 countries, promises to put the nearly 100 thousand Guatemalan and regional products in +1.5 million points of sale located in supermarket chains and distribution centers internationally.

We are very happy that, after 3 years of having stopped holding this retail business fair, it has attracted the attention of top-level buyers and distributors from the United States, Canada, Mexico, France, Central America, among others. Guatemala and the region were prepared with a first-class exportable offer to supply retail chains with market trends, such as: vitamins, supplements, ready-to-eat foods, cookies, carbonated drinks, energy drinks, pet foods and much more. There are more than 150 exhibitors, including 20 companies from the El Salvador and Costa Rica pavilion, and individual companies from Honduras and Nicaragua that are also participating, indicated Cesar Vettorazzi, President of the Manufexport 2023 Organizing Committee.

Ten member companies of the AGEXPORT Various Manufactures Commission are present at the most important regional fair for the retail sector in Central America, Manufexport, in which they exhibit their products that have been adapted in accordance with market regulations and registered with the Food and Drug Administration -FDA, thus providing, from the Pharma pavilion, a quality offer to international buyers.

The 10 companies of the AGEXPORT Various Manufactures Commission are part of the Pharmaceutical Nucleus of said organization. The companies that belong to the Nucleus have a positive track record at the regional level, are certified with Good Manufacturing Practices from the World Health Organization and have international quality certifications. We understand the interest on the part of international buyers, since companies offer, from the Pharma pavilion, different products of great relevance, such as: medicines, vitamins, and dietary and natural supplements,” explained Alejandro Toledo Director of Diverse Manufactures AGEXPORT and Vice President of the MANUFEXPORT Organizing Committee.

In order to promote exports related to the Pharmaceutical Sector, the AGEXPORT Pharmaceutical Nucleus prioritized strategic markets. Among them, the United States, which is why the Export Pharma to USA Program was created, which has strengthened and prepared the companies present at Manufexport to position themselves effectively in the North American market.

The Pharmaceutical Sector is a pillar of exports. By May 2023, total exports were recorded, in value, of US$152 million, a growth of 6%. These exports were made to more than 35 strategic markets, thus generating 8 thousand direct jobs and 60 thousand indirect jobs. Cosmetics and Hygienic Industry holds business meetings with Central America, North America, and the Dominican Republic

Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Panama, and the United States are the main export destinations of the Cosmetics and Hygienic Industry. For this reason, 10 member companies of the AGEXPORT Cosmetics and Hygienic Commission participate in Manufexport, offering a wide range of products, including: cosmetics, household cleaning, hygiene, and personal care items. The exportable offer is made from the Cosmetics segment, as well as from the Global services & international suppliers hall pavilion.

Currently, the most requested products by international buyers are powder and liquid detergent, bath and toilet soap, cosmetics, alcohol gel, body cream, soap roll, shampoo, conditioner, chlorine, baby oil, essential oils, and disinfectant. MANUFEXPORT 2023 ESTIMATES SALES FOR sales of $25 Million

With an expected sales of $25 million, the organizers of AGEXPORT’s MANUFEXPORT have managed to bring together 200 buyers who come from 14 different countries: the United States, Central America, the Dominican Republic, South America, Mexico, Canada, and France. These international buyers will hold 2,500 business meetings over two days with the different AGEXPORT member companies, which are exhibiting and offering more than 100,000 products from the segments of plastics, various manufacturing, cosmetics, food and beverages, household and cleaning hygiene and personal care products, as well as, from the new segment of this 2023: pharmaceuticals.
