With the objective of sharing relevant and current issues for national and foreign investors, thus ensuring the use of opportunities and adequate compliance with the obligations and rights of Guatemalan legislation, the Integrated Services Commission for Exportation -SIEX- of the Services Sector of the Guatemalan Association of Exporters -AGEXPORT- developed the virtual discussion on Tax Rights and Obligations.
“The main problems to comply with tax rights and obligations is the lack of knowledge of the current legislation, trends and current methodologies of examination and collection by the Superintendence of Tax Administration -SAT-“, assured Rocío Lara, Coordinator of the Tax Commission SIEX.
To achieve the purpose of the conversation, the following organizations participated: Aguilar Castillo Love, BASRO, Fortuny and KPMG, which shared the following topics:
- Formal rights and obligations.
- Fiscal and accounting rights and obligations.
- Rights and obligations regarding transfer pricing.
- Rights and obligations regarding social security.
“Some of the actions that should be developed to strengthen this issue are devoting time and resources to training and knowing the rules of the game. We, SIEX, are the perfect link to find this valuable content”, concluded Lara.
In this way, AGEXPORT and its partners benefited by receiving valuable content from expert sources that are part of organizations with a long and prestigious history and that understand the vision of “making Guatemala an exporting country”.
