The Guatemalan Association of Exporters -AGEXPORT- held a meeting with the German Press, with the aim of making them aware of the actions carried out by the organization through its 6 sectors and 27 commissions/committees, as well as its commitment to economic development and society of the country.
“The work of AGEXPORT, since its foundation in 1982, has contributed to the promotion, development and diversification of exports of non-traditional products and services from Guatemala, this as a way to generate employment and well-being in the country”, indicated Francisco Menéndez, Director of the Board of Directors of AGEXPORT.
During the meeting, Menéndez also added important data from AGEXPORT, such as:
- Being the first business chamber in Guatemala that managed to have a woman as President on the Board of Directors.
- Have the Committee of Women Exporters, which seeks to increase the participation of women in decision-making positions.
- Create the AGEXPORT New Gen Committee, which seeks the participation and competitiveness of young businessmen and entrepreneurs.
- Promote the use of opportunities offered by international trade, especially to micro, small and medium-sized companies, which constitute more than 85% of the member companies.
Who are the German journalists?
- Carl Moses: Economist, journalist, and consultant.

- Tobias Käufer: Sports journalist. Käufer established the Catholic News Agency in Bogotá.
