AGEXPORT Software Development (SOFEX) commission plans to focus in 2019 on developing a legal framework for e-commerce and “fintech”. It also plans to focus on cybersecurity.
Our commission expects to become a platform to help our fellow members at AGEXPORT increase their businesses abroad. We are also seeking to help the country reach a higher development by transforming local areas into “smart cities”. We have already established an alliance with three municipalities and two universities. With this, we expect to create more opportunities for young Guatemalans and help prevent further immigration to the United States, said Mr. Devadit Barahona, president of AGEXPORT Software Development commission.
Added to that, the commission has planned different activities and events for 2019, which includes Hi-Tech GT 2019, virtual business meetings and other networking events. It also seeks to exchange experiences with key global players in the IT industry on different training sessions to expand the knowledge of its members.
