Handmade Fashion Pavilion: Guatemala’s emerging high-fashion talent
New World Craft’s 2019 edition took place on September 24-25th, 2019 at Casa Santo Domingo in Antigua Guatemala. The event gathered more than 100 international buyers from the United States, Europe, Central America and other Latin American countries.
The event has evolved to become a hub for designers, entrepreneurs and artists. At the 2019 edition, five Guatemalan designers exhibited its latest high-fashion collections, full of unique designs and the usage of original materials to display traditional patterns and other cultural characteristics.
Our “handmade fashion” Pavilion displayed a fascinating balance between being a clothing brand that focuses on meeting exclusive market needs with also displaying artisan characteristics including unique colors, forms and ancient messages. Renown Guatemalan designers like Liza Carrillo, Victoria Rivera, Emma Gutierrez, Maura Parra and the Colombian designer Stella Torres exhibited their garments at our pavilion; said Mrs. Luisa Villavicencio, President of AGEXPORT’s Handmade Commission.
New World Crafts 2019 also opened a special pavilion for suppliers, to ease the connection between producers of handmade products with suppliers of different raw materials and logistics services.
This 12th edition of New World Crafts, organized by AGEXPORT’s Handmade Commission, was made possible thanks to the support of the European Union’s program “More Competitive Cooperatives and SMEs”.
