Industrias y Servicios del Mar, a company member of AGEXPORT’s Aquaculture Sector, donated 500 pounds of fresh shrimp on April 14th to residents of Paredon Buena Vista and Milagro de Dios in Sipacate, Escuintla department. The products donated complied with all food safety requirements established by the Health Ministry.

With this donation, Camaronera del Sur supported 250 low-income families whose labor activities are currently suspended due to the health emergency started with the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Guatemala.

This year, a significant amount of shrimp that was expected to be exported from Guatemala will remain in the country, and what better action that to share this with the communities near our facilities; said Mr. Luis Walters, CEO of Industrias y Servicios del Mar and member of the directory board of AGEXPORT’s Aquaculture Sector.

With this type of actions, companies members of AGEXPORT contribute with Guatemalans and lower the burden that the current economic and health situation create on some families.
