AGEXPORT plans to implement seven strategic actions to boost international demand of Guatemalan specialty coffee

AGEXPORT’s Specialty Coffee Committee has different activities planned for 2020, including the improvement of capabilities of coffee exporters with help from the Centre for Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries of the Netherlands. The committee also plans to support companies to achieve their goal of exporting to European countries.

Through our trade platform CoffeeVerse, we will continue showcasing our specialty coffees and contacting potential buyers to increase our sales of Guatemalan specialty coffee to the world. We will also organize field trips to capture geographic data on our coffee fields across the country and promote them with international buyers; said Mr. Guillermo Rodriguez, president of AGEXPORT’s Specialty Coffee Committee.

Other activities planned for 2020 include:
Second edition of Coffee Trade: the organization of the most important fair to display roasted specialty coffee from Guatemala with several key international buyers, which will take place in March 2021.

Open Business Season 2019-2020: Gathering data and international coffee orders which are being shared with members of the committee.
Export Pathway: Provide information to members of the committee to participate on this training program and strengthen their knowledge on export-related processes.

17th edition of the Specialty Coffee Export Diploma: Promoting the participation of committee members on an intensive training program developed to strengthen knowledge and capabilities on production, industrialization and commercialization of Guatemalan coffee.
