Since 2018, AGEXPORT developed its “Export Pathway” program to work with entrepreneurs, small and medium companies and help them sell internationally. Throughout its six stages, this program has taken 170 Guatemalan companies with no experience on selling abroad to be able to offer their products and services to the world. One of the key challenges that the program has identified is the need to strengthen the knowledge of entrepreneurs on financial management and access to logistics services.

The needs we identified with companies starting on the early stages of our Export Pathway program pushed us to establish an alliance with Banco Industrial and DHL Express. These are well-recognized companies, with expertise in the financial and logistics industries and will guarantee us that we will be able to offer top knowledge on these topics. Our participants will receive excellent training as well as services at favorable conditions to be able to export their goods and services; said Mr. Fernando Herrera, Manager of AGEXPORT’s Services to Exporters Department.

Banco Industrial will offer guidance to participants on all stages of the Export Pathway. Entrepreneurs will have access to training on financial education topics and have access to loans at preferential interest rates as well as electronic payment alternatives.

Additionally, DHL Express will offer exclusive services for small and medium enterprises, including a 35% discount on logistics services for non-traditional products.

For 2020, we are including special services for our Export Pathway. On Stage 2 of the program, we have included a diagnostics service on corporate sustainability to allow businessowners to strengthen their knowledge and be able to reach international markets. As well, we want more companies to join the current e-commerce trend, so we opened an e-learning alternative for our program. With this alternative, more entrepreneurs and businessowners will have the opportunity to participate on our program without having to be physically in the classrooms, expediting their training and strengthening their knowledge to be able to sell internationally; said Mr. Herrera.
