AGEXPORT NEWS

As part of AGEXPORT’s movement “Exporters United for Guatemala” and its campaign “Protecting our Heroes”, on April 23rd, 2020, the institution made a special donation to workers of the different prisons across the country.

The donation included 11,000 face masks, made by the Korean company SAE-A, member of the Garments & Textiles Association, part of AGEXPORT.

We are very pleased to be able to make this donation of face masks to the Prisons’ System and demonstrate that we are ready to support Guatemala during this situation. We have supported the country in previous crisis and we will continue doing it during this pandemic; said Mr. Alejandro Ceballos, president of the Garments & Textiles Association (VESTEX).

nterior Minister Edgar Godoy confirmed that the donation of 11,000 face masks will be given to the 5,500 police officers that guard the different prisons of the country.

These masks will help us greatly, as our police officers guarding prisons have shifts of up-to 15 hours and with these face masks we will prevent the COVID-19 pandemic from spreading across prison inmates and start an even greater catastrophe; said Mr. Alejandro Chang, Deputy Director of the Guatemalan Prisons’ System.
