With the objective of creating a learning space for young entrepreneurs and businessmen, the NewGen Youth Committee of the Guatemalan Association of Exporters -AGEXPORT- and the Alliance for Guatemalan Youth held the event “Businesses led by young people with a focus on exports”, the same thing that took place at the AGEXPORT facilities during the morning of September 7.
AGEXPORT, through the NewGen Youth Committee, together with the Alliance for Guatemalan Youth and Nestlé, held, on September 7, within the AGEXPORT facilities the significant event “Businesses led by young people with a focus on exports”, an activity on the occasion of International Youth Day, which is commemorated every August 12.
The event, Businesses led by young people with a focus on exports, was a way to expand and strengthen knowledge in the competitive field of international business. During this meeting, it became clear that youth, sustainability, and innovation are part of the driving force behind successful exports today. It is essential that we continue to cultivate young talent and foster creativity in companies to achieve sustainable growth in the global market,” said Jennifer Mendoza, Sector Operations Manager of AGEXPORT.
What were the topics presented in “Businesses led by young people with a focus on export”?
In order to achieve the purpose of the event, the following four topics were presented:
- Importance of green businesses led by young people; presentation made by Amílcar Ordóñez from Green Development.
- Export tips and strategies, exhibition developed by Regina Bobadilla from Nestlé.
- Presentation of a coffee export venture by Diana Flores and Jimena Fuentes, both students at the Guatemalan American Institute -IGA-. The entrepreneurship won the 2023 national innovation award organized by U-report and the National Secretariat of Science and Technology -SENACYT-.
- Exporter Route, presentation carried out by Brenda García, Head of the AGEXPORT Internationalization Route.
In a world increasingly focused on sustainability and environmental responsibility, green businesses are not simply an option, but a necessity for business success. To succeed in international markets, it is essential to combine these values with effective export strategies that maximize global reach. It is worth mentioning that the entrepreneurship that embrace this vision will be positioned to lead the way to a prosperous and sustainable business future,” explained Luis Pedro Solares, Member of AGEXPORT’s NewGen Youth Committee.
