AGEXPORT’s Handmade Commission participated for the first time at the 5th edition of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Show in Guatemala City.
We are very proud of the seven members of our commission that participated at the Fashion Show and displayed 40 “handmade looks” which included high-fashion garments, handbags and accessories inspired on nature and with minimalist styles, transparencies, natural dyes and Guatemalan patterns, said Mrs. Monica Diaz, coordinator of AGEXPORT’s Handmade Commission.
The fashion runway of Ciudad Cayalá in Guatemala City highlighted on November 14th, 2018 several unique designs from members of AGEXPORT, including: Shanú (handbags), Nan (garments), Victoria Rivera (garments), Casa de Jade (accessories), Kachler (handbags with gemstone decorations), Wakami (accessories) and Estilo Quetzal (garments).
Throughout its 35 years, AGEXPORT has always worked to develop artisan and handcrafted products. Our participation at this international fashion show was a big step to take the enormous talent of our Guatemalan fashion designers internationally and generate new opportunities for the businessmen and artisans of our commission, as well as positioning Guatemala as a leader in the fashion industry, said Mrs. Diaz.
The “Handmade Fashion” group of AGEXPORT’s Handmade Commission was launched on early 2018 with the objective of supporting Guatemalan fashion designers to be identified as leaders among the fashion industry by integrating innovative designs and Guatemalan handmade pieces and patterns.
